The second level in the Commitment Level Model of Youth Ministry is the Connect Strategy. At this level the goal is to connect Seekers with other Christians and connect them with God as they are saved through faith in Jesus Christ.
A number of ministry strategies are available that will help with this task. Follow the links for full details of the different strategies.
1. Rave Strategy
This is a four week programming strategy that aims to evangelise and assimilate youth who are willing to attend group events.
2. Youth Alpha
This relationship-based, evangelistic strategy aims to provide a context in which youth who are asking questions about Christianity can hear the gospel and have an opportunity to discuss and interact with other Christians.
3. Seeker Services
Many youth groups and churches have church services that are designed with the unchurched person in mind. These events are effective ways in which seeking youth can hear the message of salvation in a way that they can relate to.
Other possible ministries at this level include: evangelistic camps (where the whole camp is targeted at seekers); evangelistic campaigns (these are repeated seeker services); and sports evangelism (such as coaching clinics, where at the end of the event a Christian sporting personality shares their testimony; or sports competitions, such as a surfing competition organised by the church ending with a gospel message).
Youth who accept the message of salvation at Connect Events should be placed into a small group for follow-up, or followed-up one-on-one by one of the youth leaders. This takes place at the next commitment level event in the model called Follow-Up.
